Wycombe Half Results
A decent ERR turnout at Wycombe. Well done to Arthur and Gemma for some pretty big PBs.
Apparently Robert's time was a PW, but he still finished 9th, so not all bad.

An excellent turn-out of 31 ERR people at Waddesdon.
Particular congratulations to Kate and Jacky for their category prizes, distance specialist Chris for his PB, and Tom for beating his dad so comfortably.
Any jokers or PBs that I've missed, let me know.

37 ERR finishers among the 283 finishers, plus quite a few walking wounded watching (and cheering) from the sidelines.
Jonathan was the only one I know of to play a joker, but let me know if there were any others.

Some pretty impressive improvements on handicap times - normally this is won with a time 3 or 4 minutes better than handicap, so well done in particular to Elaine, Jennie and Sam.
Category winners are in italics, and juniors first.

Congratulatons to everyone who helped the club to record its best results ever in this event.
The ERR A team finished 5th, our highest position ever, and the overall time of 10 hours 28 minutes beat our previous best by 13 minutes.
The ERR Ladies team finished 27th overall, in a time of 12 hours 14 minutes, which was 35 minutes better than the previous best, and just over 2 minutes away from winning the ladies' prize.
The ERR B team finished 29th, and the time of 12 hours 22 minutes was 30 minutes better than 2012, and just 4 minutes off the best ever.
More importantly than any of this, we beat Alchester (this is just in response to various comments on their website).
The individual results are below:

A very healthy turnout of 41 ERR runners out of the 302 finishers overall.
Still no jokers played that I am aware of.

Well done to Denise and Arthur for recording PBs in conditions that weren't exactly suited to such things.
Congratulations also to Kate and Denise for their category prizes, even if the latter of those has still to materialise.
John won the report, and his epic tale follows the results.

Thanks to everyone who turned out, and especially Dave for running 2 legs.

Well done to Denise for being the first lady, and to Robert for winning his category.
Arthur's report follows the results.

On paper this event didn't have much going for it:
• Bank holiday Monday
• 12 o’clock start time
• Boiling hot day
• Oxfordshire Road Relays had been the day before
We gathered at the start line. An interesting mixture of apprehension, excitement and sweat filled the air. Talk mostly consisting of pre-race eating strategy. To have lunched, or to have not yet lunched, that was the question.
The following few seconds are still a blur. A countdown had begun. As we reached zero a canon was fired. So incredibly loud and unexpected was the blast (think Battle of Chalgrove Field - 1643) that most of the four hundred assembled runners fell to their knees then scrambled for cover.
Following the noisy send off (which had been triggered by GMTV’s Penny Smith – who?) we ran a hot and undulating 10k route on quiet rural lanes passing through the villages of Berrick Salome and Roke, before returning to Chalgrove where the May Day celebrations awaited us.
Highlight of the day was a post race ice cream whilst watching Denise and Kate going down the bouncy slide.

A most welcome return for Robbie after far too long since his last appearance in an Eynsham vest.
There were 36 ERR runners among the 301 finishers overall.
