Thinking of joining?

Whether you’re running to make friends, keep fit, or compete in races, we’d love to welcome you to Eynsham Roadrunners. The best way to see if we’re right for you is to come along and try us out.

  • When: Wednesdays at 6.30pm
  • Where: Eynsham Pavilion
  • What: A friendly social run (typically 4–8 miles, with shorter and off-road options)

Please email eynsham.err@gmail.com before your first visit so that we know to expect you. You’re very welcome to try a few sessions before deciding to join.

What we’re about

Eynsham Roadrunners is a friendly, inclusive club with runners of all abilities. We’ll support you whether your goal is smashing your personal bests, running your first 5K, celebrating a podium finish, improving your fitness or pace, competing in local races, or simply enjoying running with others and discovering new routes in the lovely Oxfordshire countryside. There’s no pressure to train or race – you can be as involved as suits you.

Weekly Runs & Training

Wednesday Club Night

These are social runs starting from the Eynsham pavilion.

  • Summer: choice of longer/shorter routes, on or off road
  • Winter: village routes (high-vis and lights required)
  • Walking group for recovering, resting or retired runners available

Afterwards there is usually tea, cake and chat.

Tuesday Training

These are structured sessions suitable for all paces.

  • Summer (April–October): speed sessions with occasional hills
  • Winter: alternating speed and hill sessions

Note that there are no toilet or changing facilities at Tuesday sessions

Races & Events

If you want to race, we do plenty — but it’s always optional. We compete in:

There’s also the opportunity to enter the Eynsham 10K in your first year; the hotly contested Witney vs Eynsham Challenge, social cycling, and Pilates for Runners sessions.

Juniors & Families

We welcome families and junior members as part of our family membership. Please note that we don’t currently have a separate youth training structure and that parents must run with their children at club nights. Juniors can compete in cross-country and other events, accompanied by their parents.

New Members – Frequently Asked Questions

“I haven’t done much running — is that a problem?”
To get the most out of club runs, we recommend being able to jog continuously for at least 30 minutes.
If you’re just starting out, our You Can Run (Couch to 5k) course or parkrun are great stepping stones — many ERR members run or volunteer at local parkruns.

“Can I try the club before joining?”
Yes — absolutely. Most people come along for a few weeks before completing a membership form.

“Do I have to live in Eynsham?”
No — we have members from Aston, Botley, Cassington, Charlbury, Cumnor, Freeland, and Witney and Oxford, and lift-sharing is common.

“Do I have to race?”
Not at all. Many members never race — others race regularly. It’s entirely up to you.
