Cirencester Cross Country Results

A return to what we old sweats would term as 'proper' cross country at Cirencester - cold, muddy, hilly. A decent turn-out from the ERR men, including Mr Tyrrell, despite him getting lost in his extended warm-up, saw them repeat their 4th place in Division 2. Let's salute the ERR ladies who did turn up, rather than the multitudes who didn't, so congratulations and well done to Tara, Jacky, Claire and Kate.

Newbury Cross Country Results

The men certainly had the better of the weather for the cross country season opener at Newbury, with some even saying it was a bit warm, before the heavens opened in time for the women's race. Well done to all the ERR debutants - the Daniels family, along with Claire, Mark and Phil. The individual results are below. For the record, the ERR ladies A team were 9th in Division 1, while the ERR men were 4th in Division 2.

ERR Handicap Race Results

Thanks to everyone who helped out, and of course those who took part in the first running of this event since 2019. The new format seemed to be a hit, but any feedback is welcome. Congratulations to Elaine for winning the massive trophy for the second time, and also to Tom and Jacky who were the man and woman closest to their handicap times, thus winning themselves a trip round the Hook Norton Brewery. Here is Elaine, with the aforementioned trophy, and Simon looking suitably impressed.   Here are the results, in terms of who beat their handicap by most. Some more facts and figures may follow.

Hooky 6 Results

A glorious day at Hook Norton saw some glorious ERR performances. Well done to our various category winners and to Tom for finishing 3rd senior man, as well as Queenie, who was 2nd LV65 but didn't get a prize. Had there been team prizes I think ERR would have won both men's and women's but, bearing in mind the amount of beer we took home, maybe we shouldn't be greedy.

Combe 2 Mota-vation Results

For some reason, the official results have no mention of anyone's club at the moment, so apologies if I've missed anyone with my old school check of the results. Well done to our various category prize winners, and we can't even put it down to the 'Hornton effect' of no one else having turned up. The Club Championship scores will be updated a bit later, but let me know if anyone in addition to Adam and Steve played their jokers.

Hornton 6 Results

The official results were quite slow to come out for a race with 56 finishers, but I suppose that's in keeping with the 'homespun' nature of the event, Anyway, 56 finishers also meant that it was something of a trophy-fest and joker-fest for the 11 ERR folk who took part..
