Club Championship Rules PDF Print E-mail

Long league
  • Membership fees for the current year must be paid
  • A club vest or T shirt must be worn to races to qualify for points.  If you wish to run a Championship race for a charity wearing their shirt/vest you must notify the committee in writing prior to the event to qualify for points
  • Your best 8 races will count
  • Your age on 1st January of the competing year will be used for age category qualification
  • For all races, except a marathon (see below), your position crossing the line counts for championship points.  Your watch time is for personal record only.
  • You cannot swap between leagues during the year
  • To encourage runners to enter races 1 point will be awarded to each runner who completes a Club Championship event. This point will not be doubled if your joker is played (see below) and is in addition to normal race points.

MARATHON TIMES: if there is a chip then the chip time counts.  If there is no chip your watch time (start to finish) counts (not the official time).

The JOKER/WILD CARD enables a runner to double their points for one race only.  All you need to do is decide which one race you wish to use your wild card joker and notify TWO Eynsham club members who will act as witnesses that you are using this and you can do this any time up to the start of the nominated race.  The number of points earned from that race will then be doubled.  The wild card cannot be used for any marathon.  The joker will automatically be used for the last race if not used previously (note that this is the last race of the season, not your last race).

Short League

  • Membership fees for the current year must be paid
  • A club vest or T shirt must be worn to races
  • Your best 8 races will count
  • You have to nominate which league you are taking part in before your first club race (using the designated form)
  • You cannot swap between leagues during the year
  • All other conditions remain the same as for the main league

All races are decided and communicated to club members prior to the competing year but are subject to change if exceptional circumstances prevail.

RULE CHANGES FOR 2010:

  • You get a point for taking part in your best marathon (1/2 marathon in the Short League).
  • In the event of a tie for any prize category the winner will be the person with the most 1st places. If there is still a tie it will be decided on 2nd places, and so on.
  • You must compete in at least 5 events to win any category prize.
  • You are only eligible for a category prize in your 'main' category, i.e. you cannot win a prize in a lower age category than your own.
  • PLEASE APPLY EARLY FOR ANY RACE YOU WISH TO ENTER TO SAVE DISAPPOINTMENT.  There should be plenty of entry forms for each race so always look in the Club Folder on Wednesday evenings.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAND IN YOUR TIME BEFORE LEAVING ANY RACE.
